- The North and South project aims to challenge stereotypes about the North and South by generating productive debate and pursuing archival, literary and historical research focusing on the period 1837-1947 in a collaboration between staff at the Universities of Hull and Southampton. Both cities shared similar experiences during both First and Second World Wars as conduits for trade and migration but their different regional locations also shaped these histories.
